Kashmora is a Tamil movie direction by Gokul, who earlier directed ‘Rowthiram’ and ‘IDHABA’. The movie has Karthi, Nayantara and Sri Divya in lead roles.
The film along with its Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada dubbed versions, is scheduled for a worldwide release on 28 October 2016.
It's been said that the "3D Face scan" technology, first of its kind for south Indian movie, has been used in this film. Karthi's face has been 3D scanned for an important sequence which will be running 15 minutes.
Kaashmora comprises 80 minutes of VFX scenes. Director Gokul says that, 360-degree omnidirectional camera rig is used for shooting a particular sequence and this is the first time for an Indian movie to use this technology. This technology covers entire 360 degree, approximately entire sphere. Omnidirectional cameras are used where large visual field coverage is needed, such as in panoramic photography. This camera is used in this movie to shoot a song and few scenes.
In an interview, Director Gokul says that, Nayanthara plays a princess in this film, while Sri Divya plays an investigative journalist. With regard to Karthi’s work, he said that, he was stunned by his (Karthi) performance.
Kaashmora was begun in the first week of May 2015. This is Karthi's big budgeted movie in his career and is made at a budget of Rs 60 crores.[5] In this movie, Karthi performs three roles after dual role in Siruthai which is his earlier movie.[6] Karthi appears as a King, a normal youth as well as a man with tonsured head in this movie.[7] He will be romancing Nayanthara for the first time in his career.[8] It is noteworthy that Nayanthara was announced as the heroine of Karthi in Paiyaa but walked out due to unknown reasons. Sri Divya is said to play as second heroine. ‘Kaashmora’ is directed by Gokul, who gave the laugh riot anthology Idharkuthaney Aasaipattai Balakumara.[9]
Vivek will be playing Karthi’s dad in Kashmora.[10] This was revealed by the comedian himself at the Palakaatu Madhavan audio launch held Apr 23 2015. Vivek, who was seen sporting a salt and pepper look for the past few days, has said that though he tried out different get-ups for the role, finally he decided that this would suit the best. Kaashmora, starring Karthi, Nayanthara and Sri Divya in the lead roles, is being directed by Gokul of Idharkuthaney Aasaipattai Balakumara and Rowthiram fame.
